What's the most important quality or skill in an entrepreneur?

I think Ian was right. It's this really difficult concept to put your finger on. It's like hustle, but not so phony. It's like resourcefulness, but not so basic. It's like grit, but not so "take the stairs."

I think it's working smart, not hard. Telling a story that others can get behind and having the resourcefulness to make everything work. No matter what.

I've done this before and the answer is tricky: you do both at the same time. It's essentially a conundrum, right? What came first the chicken or the egg?

How can grow my website (customer base) at a faster rate?

I'm a young guy and startup entrepreneur. Recently I got myself into Inc., Fast Company, HuffPost, Entrepreneur.com, and Forbes. I essentially found writers/contributors who write about topics similar to my website/product. Then, I find them on linkedin, twitter, or find their email and reach out to them with a personal message and a call to action.

There are a ton of options for you, including hiring a PR firm to help you, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. There are plenty of ways that you can get yourself into large publications or find others ways to get yourself social proof. I'll also make a few introductions for you, if I can.

I'm a 19 year-old entering University soon. Is there anything beneficial for a perspective entrepreneur that should not be missed in the university ?

Joseph has a very good answer. In my opinion there are two kinds of entrepreneurs: the technical and the non-technical. The technical entrepreneurs know how to code and bring to the table the ability to create amazing things, build websites, design, and all the other things a tech entrepreneur should know.

Then, there's the non-technical. This type of entrepreneur has to have a special ability to go out there and connect the dots. They use their skills in sales, biz dev, and marketing to gather the resources and people they need to create amazing business'. Basically, where the non-technical entrepreneur lacks skills, the technical entrepreneur has a wealth of knowledge in (and vice versa).

However, both types should have entry level knowledge on programing.

How do you find the best co founder and building a team without giving away your idea/IP?

At some point you have to realize that your idea is just an idea and not a business. You have to realize that an idea is only as good as the person who executes it.

The most successful startup entrepreneurs are at every pitch competition they can get their hands on, giving away their exact business model. This is because they know that no one is going to execute their idea. Thousands of people will tell you it's a great idea, but rarely do people ever execute on "stealing" it.

I need to figure out how to buy baby bottles in bulk for my business. Do I contact distributors, wholesalers, or manufacturers? How do I go about it?

I've been an entrepreneur for years, but never in consumer product goods. I just recently started sourcing manufacturing directly from China and its been working well. Basically my process was to scour alibaba (aliexpress is too expensive) and then negotiated with them by playing them against each other. Essentially I took my product cost from 3.85 to .77 by going offshore. I would be willing to go over a step by step process to help you source the bottles.

What are the issues/challenges that come up in one on one mentoring process, issues which can be rectified for a smooth process?

I used to run a team of 35+ individual branch managers that ran their own branch of the company. I did all of the 1on1 mentoring to coach them through the process. I would get a ton of pushback because they would go months without making any money and working about 65 hour weeks. It was my 1on1 mentoring with them (over the phone) that got them to push through to the end. That year we did about $2 million in sales from $0 the previous year.

Instead of focusing on the business gobbldygook, I would focus on helping them break through the mental barriers of their problems. I did this by getting them to show themselves that their problems were only really problems because they hadn't solved them yet.

I got tremendous pushback from 35 over worked and under paid business owners that eventually make a ton of money once they reached the end.
