I've done a lot of prototyping work for http://snow.sh, using both CNC end mills and 3-D printers. We were able to fully prototype our first product in about six hours. We also won the TechCrunch Disrupt hackathon (http://snow.sh/ack) by building a web-connected door lock in 24 hours.
