I have been a social worker working with kiddos and adults struggling with mental health and behavioral issues for over 10 years. I believe that we all have our own version of “normal”, and it’s possible to find that and embrace it, even when it’s different than what others say is “normal”. Each and every one of us has gifts, we just need to identify and learn to use them. I have a long history of working with individuals with addiction issues, which often stem from untreated mental illness or traumas experienced and never worked through. There is no such thing as getting over it, but there is a way to accept it, as you cannot change it, and use it to better yourself. I love helping others learn how to listen and hear themselves, as you are the professional on you, sometimes we just need help being still enough to hear our own advice.

I have worked with many families dealing with how to help their aging parents stay at home and not go into a facility, but the money just wasn’t there. If you find yourself in a position where a loved one needs assistance or care at home but don’t know how to pay for it, I can help walk you through all the red tape to see if there are programs to help. If your loved one is a veteran, please, please get ahold of me. There are many programs available. If you don’t know how to pay for a nursing home because they don’t qualify for Medicaid, please reach out! I may be able to guide you down the right path. There are programs that can pay you to take care of a loved one, ways to put assets aside to qualify for services, etc. I’m here to help!

First off, you’re not alone! I know it may seem that way, but you are not. Second, it’s not your fault! You are not a bad parent. There are many reasons why your child may be struggling. I can help you figure out what path to follow to help your child. There are numerous programs out there that you most likely are not even aware of that will provide support to you and your child!
