How to Design a Product That Gets Traction

I worked with Chris in BBC Worldwide for around 2 years and he was a joy to work with.
He has an infectious cheerfulness even when he is working under a lot of pressure. He understands the importance of delivering customer centric product solutions and the role that SEO has to play. Because of his technical background, he communicates business requirements in very clear and concise manner and understands technical challenges that developers face.

I worked with Chris on topgear.com where his role was akin to that of Product Manager of the site.
In my opinion the role of the Product Manager is to ensure the site meets the needs of the users and the business and to select and prioritise enhancements to the site to meet those needs.
This is exactly what Chris did. He provided clear direction to the project team and was able at all times to help us prioitise and select our work.
This combined with his excellent knowledge of analytics meant that Chris was a central and key member of the web team.
