Carlos Rodriguez has, since 2016, been an independent consultant. Prior to this, from 2010 to 2016, Carlos was the Managing Director at Credit Suisse in London and New York. He was the Global Head of Macro Structuring, Head of Strategy and Head of Capital Management. His responsibilities included serving in a deputy role with direct decision-making over entire Macro Group; managing a team of 35 professionals in EMEA, APAC and AMER for Structured Notes, Indices, Hedging Solutions and Commodities; dealing with client facing with focus on Banks, Insurance Companies and Asset Mangers across asset and liability space; managing all aspects of capital optimization for group (including large BCBS leverage and RWA reduction); and working with clients to migrate CSA documentation to a capital lite standard. He was also served head of strategic planning for macro and platform optimization- devised successful business turnaround. From 2004 to 2010, Carlos was the Managing Director and Head of Municipal Markets and US Counterparty Risk Exposure at Deutsche Bank in New York. He was responsible for establishing municipal trading and sales, and structuring from scratch. Carlos has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. His areas of specialization include investment banking with a very general knowledge about equity banking. He has been directly involved in helping with the management and the strategy of transforming the banking process from a traditional form towards an online process. His experience is with the European and the American banking industry.
