Ben is a true entrepreneur – he has vision and the tenacity to see that it gets realized. One of his gift’s is the ability to cultivate the best from partnerships, and in this way he sought my counsel as a consultant, then seamlessly managed our collaboration. The result was that together with Ben and his fabulous team we created something that wouldn’t otherwise have been possible. I first met Ben after hacking the product he helped create called Zeo. He was interested in open-source development and alternative projects from the start. Since then I have had the great pleasure of working under Ben during a long-distance Summer internship and a shorter on-site Winter internship. Ben has a lot of enthusiasm and personal involvement in the projects he oversees. He is also definitely driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. He has proven to be an effective project manager, no matter the distance. He provided challenging, but reasonable, deadlines and contributed greatly to the project, without attempting to micro-manage. He gave me plenty of room to try things out, while making sure projects were completed in a timely manner.
I worked alongside Ben as we were both founders of Zeo, Inc. Ben was indispensable to the company in his role as CTO, for his strong grasp of technology, and creative approach in moving forwards. Most significant were Ben's drive and energy, aggressively pursuing new paths as they came up.
I had the pleasure of being hired as a consultant by Ben to help he and his team bring their Zeo sleep monitoring product to market. While Ben is relatively young, I found his leadership and management skills to be extraordinary. He was decisive in terms of taken required actions to move the company/product forward. He was attentive and insightful in terms of absorbing and integrating advice I could provide on successful product development. He was adept at analyzing available technical directions and providing the insight/vision for where the company should go.
Ben is a highly talented entrepreneur and manager who retains a firm grasp and understanding of technical details. I believe he has far to go in his career and fully expect to see his name in future business headlines. I would not hesitate to work with him again or to recommend doing so to anyone who has the opportunity.
