After a decade of trying out different roles in the HR fields, watching more “find your passion” keynotes than I’d like to admit, and assuring my parents that, yes, I really do have a real job, I came to terms with the fact that I really only have a passion for one thing: leading and developing others! I made the great leap into a world of entrepreneurship last year. While full of uncertainty at the time, being a small business owner has broadened my knowledge and allowed myself to contribute to a leadership role in much more of a holistic fashion. Understanding how human capital contributes to our organization is paramount. However, without first-hand knowledge of operations, finance, sales, marketing and others, it was impossible to truly understand any organization's greatest asset...its' people!
