Angie is currently the Director of Growth at Hackbright Academy, a 10-week accelerated computer science and software development program exclusively for women in San Francisco. In 2008, she started Bay Area Girl Geek Dinners to network women in technology, asking that guys come as the “+1″ for once to a tech event. Dinners are sponsored by companies including Google, Facebook, Yahoo! and Palantir. Prior to that, she co-founded Women 2.0, a media company which promotes women in high-growth, high-tech entrepreneurship. She was named in Fast Company's 2010 "Most Influential Women in Technology" and more recently Business Insider named her one of "30 Most Important Women Under 30 In Tech". Angie has held positions in product management and web/UI production at various Silicon Valley startups. She holds a B.A. in English and Social Welfare from UC Berkeley.

Angie has a fantastic ability to get the job done under pressure, and is admirably flexible & able to adapt to change in SquareTrade's environment of rapidly changing business objectives. Angie was an excellent employee at VentureBeat, both in a professional way in that she is extremely competent at her work, but also in a personal sense, in that she's a friendly and fun person to have in the office. VentureBeat is still very much a scrappy start-up, and Angie was able to be flexible and work on many projects, often at a relentless pace -- as was necessary for our environment.

She's proven herself talented at both product management and product marketing. For us, she worked on engineering projects (ie. helped manage the transition of an acquisition). I can also testify to her marketing and design competence: She managed much of the marketing and design work for our conferences GreenBeat and DiscoveryBeat, including managing event marketing and logistics, designing all printed and web materials for the conference and coordinating volunteers.

A lot of other recommendations on this site laud Angie's ability to get almost any job done on time, under pressure, and with impressive grace. I couldn't agree more with their assessment. During the time I worked with Angie at VentureBeat, she was not only a joy to spend time with, she was a tremendous resource on almost every facet of the company. If I needed the answer to any question -- ranging from technical bugs to advertising sales -- she was always the first person to ask. She took pride in her work and it showed.

To give a specific example, during Angie's tenure, VentureBeat hosted its first major green technology conference -- of which I was partially in charge. Not known as a publication with expertise in this sector, producing a well-attended and respected event was going to be a major challenge. Angie touched every aspect of its planning, and I can say without a doubt that it wouldn't have been nearly as successfully had it not been for her dedicated and diverse contributions. She helped wrangle sponsors and media partners, produced marketing content for the web site, designed all of the printed material (signage, programs, etc.) on a tight schedule, and worked overtime during the event itself to make sure everything ran smoothly. I can't thank her or recommend her highly enough.
