Solving Business Challenges Through Insight

I have known Mr Andre Jankowitz for approximately 9 years, in Cape Town, South Africa. I have always found Andre to be extremely level-headed, competent and pleasant gentleman with excellent inter personal skills. I met him on a personal level at first, as our sons went to school together and our families became friends over a period of time.

My company, Spur Corporation Limited, of which I am the Executive Chairman (a public company listed on the JSE Stock Exchange in South Africa), hired Mr Jankowitz for a period as an external consultant to do a feasibility study and recommendations, on the prospect and feasibility of integrating black economic empowerment partners into our structure. The introduction to Spur was directly facilitated via a non-executive director on our Company’s board, who had met Mr Jankowitz through myself on a number of occasions. This ensured that there was an “arms length” interaction.

Mr Jankowitz’s presentation was extremely thorough and helpful and assisted our company to guide ourselves through the new legislation and the various issues that such ‘potential partnerships’ tend to create. I personally believe that Mr Jankowitz, who I know has an MBA, would be an asset to any organization, due to his dedication, craft and desire to improve his knowledge (which he has done over the years by constantly studying various different business courses). From an integrity point of view, I believe that his credentials are impeccable.

I had the priviledge to work with Andre while he was Executive Head of Finance and Strategy with Louis Group Hotels, during this period I got to know Andre as an astute business man with the phenomenal abiltiy to think out of the box. He certainly brought a fresh viewpoint to age old issues in the hospitality industry and enjoyed challenging the norm; all that being said he would always step up to the plate and deliver.
Andre is not only skilled in strategic thinking but is gifted in creating succinct reports which are usuable and beneficial to the operation.
I also had the fortune to get to see Andre as a father and husband who is loving and committed to his family. I wholeheartedly recommend Andre as he is, above all dependable and persevering.

Andre was an insightful and challenging member of our group. He was dedicated to the processes involved in successfully completing an MBA of this kind. His interaction and commitment to the class and the lecture process was always appreciated and I am sure he continues today to act as a mentor to work colleagues.

Andre is a detailed oriented-manager/director who knows how to motivate and reward staff who works for him. He is very skilled in putting performance measurements in place with measurable goals and appropriate rewards.

Andre is very likable and sociable person and is able to maintain just the right balance between being professional without being too familiar. He is able to quickly grasp the essence of complex situations, all the while never losing sight of the company's strategic objectives.

Andre has a broad knowledge base, spanning multiple skill sets, e.g. leadership, management, IT, finance, HR, etc.

It is a priviledge to write a recommendation for Andre. When I reported directly to Andre at Blue Planet Travel, I found him to be one of the most appoachable people I have ever worked with. His sense of humour coupled with his leadership skills made my experience one that I will never forget. Andre leads by example. His incredible business acumen and IT skills together with his people skills makes him one of the best.

What I really liked about Andre as a leader, he allowed me to use my own initiative and to simply get on with the job. No "over the shoulder leadership". Great leader, great listener and great person.

I have known André Jankowitz for four years and have worked closely with him at Louis Group for two of these years. During his time at Louis Group he demonstrated excellent strategic and organisational skills. He is a very skilled problem solver and has the ability to quickly unravel a complex business issue and make the decision required. His ability to create a sense of urgency was a major contributing factor to the success of the Financial Services division. Under his leadership the division’s performance improved dramatically. New funds under management surpassed previous years’ figures by more than a hundred percent. His review and improvement of the division’s overall operating model improved client service, administration of investments as well as the profitability of the division. This improvement in performance was a direct result of Andre’s excellent leadership skills. He was able to build a positive team dynamic and get everyone to work together towards a common goal. He also took a keen interest in each staff member’s development and was a coach and mentor to most.

Andre’s positive outlook on business and life in general makes it a pleasure to work with him and is an inspiration to those around him. He is a very hard working individual but places emphasis on working smartly and efficiently. He keeps an open mind and welcomes challenges of his viewpoint. Andre is very self-aware and is forever learning more about himself and others. This is evident not only in his professional life but also in his personal life. He is a very skilled and shrewd businessman but it is his leadership abilities that distinguish him. I have no doubt that he will add substantial value to any organisation within which he operates. I recommend him, without any reservations, for any executive leadership position for which he applies.

I have known Mr Andre Jankowitz since 2005. He embodies the values of integrity, honesty and respect for people. Andre is enthusiastic and optimistic - he approaches everything he does with passion and commitment. He is flexible and can adjust to changing circumstances and challenges with ease. These are great leadership strengths, because he is intrinsically motivated and he can inspire others to achieve a shared vision. I have worked with Andre' first as an Auditor with Andre' being an employee of the Louis Group (SA) Ltd and more recently in my capacity as CFO. Andre' has impressed me with his resourcefulness and ability to find solutions with his ability to think laterally and never say die attitude. His financial acumen particularly in getting to the core of an issue and developing a structured solution has been one of his strengths.

Andre brings to the table a great balance of Management and Business Analysis knowledge. With his ability to influence colleagues and stake holders, his team management and proactive approach to contract management, he insured that the company stayed on track despite the numerous challenges associated with it.
