Alberto Menache is a technology consultant for various industries, including visual effects, film, videogames, AI, and others, with clients including Lightstorm Entertainment, Electronic Arts and Sony. He served as Digital FX Supervisor at Imageworks and Character Technology Supervisor at PDI/DreamWorks, and was the founder of TSi, where he created the first commercially available Performance Capture Solver and the first captured character for a videogame (Soul Edge).
In 2008 Alberto created the first real-time Virtual Production pipeline. He has also designed several VFX and animation pipelines.
Other innovations include volumetric character deformation, muscle-based facial animation, markerless real-time facial tracking, digital human acquisition, wireless simulcam, etc.
Alberto has supervised digital effects for several films, including The Polar Express, Superman Returns and the Oscar winning short The Chubb-Chubbs. He wrote, among other books, the defining textbook on Motion Capture.
Alberto holds several patents on various innovations.
