I have known Alan Basinger for the past 4 years. Particularly, I interacted with Alan quite a lot when he was working with SBC (now AT&T) as a Design Engineer.

One thing that was obvious to me - Alan not only had a good technical understanding of the IP telephony solution, associated data infrastructure and the related design aspects but also was very efficient in presenting the solution to the customer in a manner that made sense to them in terms of their requirements and the overall solution they needed. To summarize he had a good grasp of the business that the customer is in and was able to utilize his technical expertise to solve the business problem confronting the customer. This is one of his key areas of strengths. Besides this he also has a good working knowledge of designing and managing computer networks and systems. He specializes in disaster recovery systems as the availability of these systems have become more critical than ever before.
