Writing Effective Creative Briefs and Working With Creatives
Created 10 years ago in Product & Design / Other

Good briefs are critical in getting the deliverable you want and start well before writing the actual document. I have 15+ years of experience translating between businesses and creatives. I've acted as both creative director and executor across areas of product design, UI/UX, information architecture, graphic design, branding, marketing, photography, physical space design, event production and mobile product development.
I will guide you through the process of defining what you want, writing, explaining, and 'speccing' what you want in clear and actionable terms your designer or creative can use and understand. Setting expectations. Communicating and managing the project. Giving productive and useable feedback for revisions if necessary, and fostering great relationships with your creatives resulting in better, faster, more accurate project turnarounds in the future.

VC backed founder, event producer, and business coach. I love talking to people about all things business, design, strategy, and execution. As employee 8 at Summit Series--a startup that hosts leadership and innovation-focused events. For four years, I designed and produced Summit events and built out early facilities at Powder Mountain, following the company's purchase of the Utah ski resort in 2013. When I wasn’t designing and building with 1s and 0s or concrete and steel, I helped the entrepreneurs in the Summit community as an adviser and professional matchmaker. I went on to cofound a tech-enabled physical storage/rentals company in San Francisco that raised over $35MM, where I handled everything from branding, ui/ux, app design, product management to physical operations, infrastructure, and logistics. From the highs of purchasing the largest ski mountain in the United States to the lows of watching a company I started shutter, I’ve lived the ups, downs, and in-betweens that all entrepreneurs know as just another day at the office.

Source: Clarity Jake Swartz Jan 30, 20192018 was a very hectic year. I was constantly working and not giving myself enough time to think about the present and my future. I set a goal for myself in 2019 to be more self-aware. Within one month of working with Adam, I feel like I am already achieving my goal. I have done more self-work (with the help of Adam) than I accomplished last year. I now notice myself stopping myself, multiple times a day. reflecting on the present and future. It is truly amazing to be working with Adam.

Adam has been able to easily break down each and every obstacle and communicate all potential pathways for me to overcome them. Adam has been able to combine his experience in the technical workspace and understanding of human psychology to help me dive into any issue that I have had in my career.
